first pumpkin

Mason,

To celebrate your turning three weeks old, we took you to Daddy's and my favorite pumpkin patch, Hollin Farms, which is a good hour outside of DC. It was a long trip for no more than 15 minutes to pick out and pay for a pumpkin, but it was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed getting out of the house.

Before we left, we had a little photo shoot at home. You wore your monkey outfit, which is fitting because we've called you our chunky monkey since your ultrasounds predicted your large size. The shirt says "just like daddy", so I had to take your picture together.

We didn't plan well for the sunny day, and we had to keep a burp cloth over your head to keep your sensitive skin from getting burned. Bear with us, Sweetie. We're learning, and we're doing the best we can.

Daddy and I found the perfect pumpkin for you!

It weighed about as much as you do and was heavy for me to lift with one arm.

You did a great job on our family outing, Sweetheart!

Lord willing, next year we'll be chasing you around the pumpkin patch and perhaps you'll even help choose your own pumpkin. We were delighted to cart you around this year, though. We're not ready to chase you yet.

Stay little for more than a moment, okay?

Hugs and kisses,

Mommy
